HAZARD WARNING LAMPS

ROAD DANGER LAMP LEGISLATION • The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 dictated that all road danger lamps must conform to BS EN 12352 and, in other circumstances, BS 3143: Part 2 and Part 4. • On road works where a street lamp is lit within 50 metres of the works and the speed limit is 40 mph or less, road danger lamps must flash at a rate of between 55 and 150 flashes per minute. • On all other works, the rate of flashing should be not less than 900 flashes per minute – i.e. static. • All lamps conform to BS EN 12352.
