Softshell

Fabrication Softshell fabrics offer flexibility, breathability and forms of water resistance. These garments often feature between 2-3 layers for enhanced protection and comfort, such as: Outer Layer : The outer layer of a softshell is a durable, abrasion-resistant fabric that offers water and wind resistance, shielding the wearer from the elements and providing protection. Membrane or Insulation Layer : Some softshells have a thin membrane or insulating layer beneath the outer shell, enhancing warmth and providing added windproofing and water resistance while maintaining breathability to prevent overheating during physical activity. Inner Layer : The inner layer, typically a moisture-wicking fabric, keeps the wearer dry by drawing sweat away from the body, adding comfort, and regulating temperature through moisture management. The combination of these layers in softshell garments making them versatile for outdoor wear, where adaptability and comfort are crucial.

Polycotton

Fabrication Polycotton, short for polyester-cotton blend, is a fabric made by combining both polyester and cotton fibres in varying proportions. This blend offers the benefits of both materials, with the durability and wrinkle resistance of polyester and the comfort and breathability of cotton.

Ripstop

Fabrication Ripstop fabric is a durable textile characterised by its grid-like pattern and reinforced weave. It is designed to resist tearing and is commonly used in outdoor gear, such as camping equipment and jackets, to prevent rips or tears from spreading. Fabrication Twill fabric is a textile woven with a distinctive diagonal pattern, resulting in raised parallel ribs or ridges on the fabric surface. It is known for its durability and versatility, commonly used for a variety of clothing items. Twill fabric is excellent for trousers because of its durability, resistance to wrinkles, and the ability to hide stains and wear due to its diagonal weave pattern. Ergonomics refers to the design and tailoring of garments to ensure a comfortable fit that adapts to the body’s movements and contours, enhancing comfort, functionality and reduces the risk of strain or discomfort during wear.
