Modern Slavery & Code of Conduct
Modern slavery is a global issue and requires global action. Being part of Bunzl, an international business, we are wholly committed to eliminating modern slavery practices and respecting human rights across both our own operations and our supply chain. We take appropriate action to ensure that all our employees understand our policy of eliminating forced labour, child labour and human trafficking. Bunzl adheres to a comprehensive suite of Corporate Responsibility (‘CR’) policies and standards. Those policies and standards reflect the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and require compliance with internationally recognised requirements for workers’ welfare and conditions of employment as defined by the ILO or the ETI which specifically prohibit forced labour i.e. slavery and human trafficking, unfair wages and working hours, discrimination and denying freedom of association. The policies are reviewed by the Board at least every three years (more often if new legislation, requirements or guidance emerges) to ensure that they remain appropriate.
We expect our suppliers to be governed by a strict code of conduct. The key elements of which are: • We require compliance with internationally recognised minimum requirements for workers’ welfare and conditions of employment as defined by the International Labour Organization or the Ethical Trading Initiative, which specifically prohibit child labour, forced labour (including slavery and human trafficking), unfair wages and working hours, discrimination and denying freedom of association. • We expect our suppliers to be honest in their dealings with others, obeying all applicable laws and corresponding regulations governing fraud and anti bribery and corruption.

Our Approach To Sustainability
We recognise that the sourcing, consolidation, distribution and use of our products involves the use natural resources and can create emissions and waste. We aim to reduce our impact on the environment, including factors contributing to climate change, through a commitment to continual improvement, complying with environmental legislation and regulations in the jurisdictions where our Group companies operate to ensure that our major impacts are addressed. In addition, we promote the efficient use of resources and energy in our supply chain as well as in our own operations.
We have always provided our customers with tailored solutions and it is no different when it comes to supporting their progress on sustainability. Below is how we deliver value to our customers: • Tailoring alternative products for customers • Differentiating our offer with sustainability • Helping customers meet their targets We are working closely with our supply chain partners to review all aspects of product manufacturing and packaging so we can reduce the environmental impacts of our products.

BSIF Registered Safety Supplier Scheme The BSIF has created the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme (RSSS) to support the UK safety market.
The BSIF Registered Safety Supplier Scheme is a quality assurance scheme that helps buyers of PPE and safety equipment find suppliers they can trust. The scheme’s mission is to assure users that only compliant and correctly performing products are supplied through a capable, educated, competent supply chain. All BSIF members who market PPE and safety equipment are Registered Safety Suppliers and are audited annually.
We are active members of the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme (RSSS).
Further information about the scheme can be found at www.bsif.co.uk
BSIF Working Group on Counterfeit & Illegal Goods We are also active members of the BSIF Working Group that investigates the prolific incidences of counterfeit & illegal PPE products that are imported into the UK. This working group attempts to eradicate this heinous and dangerous practice by unscrupulous traders and are strongly supported in this activity by the HSE & Trading Standards. BSIF 3 Step Process We suggest buyers and end users follow a simple 3-step process when buying PPE to ensure products are fit for purpose: CHECK your supplier is BSIF Registered. BSIF audited suppliers are compliant, competent and trustworthy. SELECT appropriate, certified and approved products. Registered Safety Suppliers can support the product selection process through their competence, capability and knowledge. PROTECT your people, your most precious asset, and help your business to thrive. It is so important to follow these three steps to ensure end users of PPE have the correct level of protection when at work. When purchasing PPE the supplier should be able to assist in every aspect as they should be experts in their field.

Our Product Control & Quality Assurance Processes
Safety isn’t just our priority—it’s our obsession. We’re relentless in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and compliance. Our advanced Quality Management System covers every step of the supply chain—from concept and design through factory approval, production inspections, and final checks at our UK Quality Assurance Centre. Every product that reaches our customers has been through rigorous, multi-layered scrutiny to guarantee it meets our exacting standards.
We bring Quality Assurance right to the source. Our team of expert auditors across Asia oversees more than 1,300 suppliers, conducting regular audits and spot checks to ensure standards never slip. By inspecting products close to the manufacturing stage, we reduce unnecessary environmental impact while maintaining strict control over quality. Self-assessment questionnaires and unannounced checks keep suppliers accountable and performance consistent.

The reintroduction of our annual global safety conferences, supplier training and supplier speed dating, provides the opportunity for our 50+ Safety businesses around the world to network, share best practice and collaborate. Discussions include benchmarking product pricing, payment terms improvement and new product/range extension. These events give many operating companies the opportunity to hear from suppliers on their product range development and sustainability capabilities. Our exclusive Bunzl-owned Quality & Product Assurance facility in Shanghai sets us apart. Staffed with highly experienced, EN ISO 9000-certified auditors, the team rigorously manages and approves suppliers at every stage—from selection and approval to manufacturing and inspection. With in-house testing facilities and direct oversight, we ensure every product meets our exacting standards before it reaches the customer. Our inbound products are in expert hands, managed by seasoned Import & Logistics specialists. At the heart of it all is our state-of-the-art Quality Assurance Centre, based in our National Distribution Centre in South Wales. Here, original design samples, detailed specs, and advanced testing equipment ensure every product is compliant, fit for purpose, and ready to meet the highest quality standards.

Our Quality Standard & Commitments Our commitment to quality is unwavering. We ensure every product and service meets both customer expectations and all regulatory requirements. To back this, we’ve built a robust Quality Management System aligned with EN ISO 9001:2015 standards. This system is rigorously monitored by our qualified audit managers and independently accredited by NQA—guaranteeing continuous compliance and reliability at every level.
Product Design Each product group is led by a seasoned Category Manager, combining deep industry expertise with sharp product insight. Beyond sourcing from trusted brands, they drive the creation and evolution of our Exclusive Brands—from concept and design to rigorous testing, certification, and technical approval—ensuring quality and compliance every step of the way.

Supplier Selection, Evaluation & Approval We keep our preferred supplier list sharp and up-to-date through detailed questionnaires, regular meetings with supplier principals, and performance feedback from our Service Centres. For overseas suppliers, we leverage our Bunzl Global Sourcing & QA/QC team in Shanghai to handle the entire selection, evaluation, and approval process. Every supplier undergoes a rigorous, comprehensive factory audit before any contract is signed, conducted by EN ISO 9001:2015-certified auditors to ensure top tier quality and compliance from day one.
We conduct a thorough supplier evaluation annually, tracking performance through a scoring system that highlights improvements or areas of concern. These results are reviewed in detail during Annual Supplier Reviews to ensure standards remain high. Every supplier of PPE must complete a declaration confirming they hold valid EU Type-Examination certification for all products supplied— guaranteeing compliance from the start.

Use of External Specialists The majority of our Exclusive Brand PPE is Certificated at SATRA of which we are Gold members. This gives us the benefit of full access to their specialist team, most of whom sit on European PPE product committees & working groups and cascade any changes & developments within their chosen discipline. This enables us to prepare well in advance for specification changes and to inform our customers of impending changes in safety product legislation in the early stages allowing for forward planning. We also have excellent working relationships with other major UK & international notified and approved bodies such as, Inspec, Intertek and BSI to name but a few.
The Final Filter As a final filter, we maintain a Quality Assurance Centre in the UK that holds original production design samples, detailed specification documents and test equipment for verifying that all product is compliant, fit-for-purpose and of merchantable quality before being released into our Service Centre network for distribution to our valued customers.
