LOCK & KEY Choose The Right Padlock

Master Keyed Each padlock has a unique locking mechanism and its own key. The additional master key will override any of these individual locks.

Keyed Alike Each padlock has the same locking mechanism. One key will open any individual lock.

A full range of padlocks is featured on these pages ranging from the highest security CEN standards to low security products that act more as a deterrent. High Security BS EN 12320 Building Hardware – Padlocks & Padlock Fittings This standard details performance requirements and test methods in relation to corrosion resistance, and security, with information on classification and marking. Requirements which relate to security are classified in six grades, based on performance tests that simulate attack with 6 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. A range of padlocks that meets this CEN standard is featured on these pages. Care should also be taken to select the correct material ranging from solid or stainless steel to laminated and brass together with all-weather options. Classification BS EN 12320 classifies padlocks and padlock fittings by using a 7 digit coding system. Each digit refers to a particular feature of the product measured against the standard’s performance requirements.

Security Ratings Explained

We have created a new easy to follow ratings system for padlocks. The range is split into Home, Work and Leisure, with each having a strength rating: 1 being low, 10 being high.

Work – For trade use; toolbox, container, commercial vehicle, outbuilding/

warehouse, security gate, garage forecourt SECURITY RATING: 7-10
