ECE 70 PLATES

Vehicle contour marking has been mandatory requirement since July 2011. Highly reflective, extremely durable and coated with a suitably strong adhesive which complies with ECE 104. Suitable for curtain or rigid sided vehicles. VEHICLE CONTOUR MARKING

Aluminium plate with high grade retro-reflective yellow and fluorescent red finish. Manufactured to ECE 70, specifications applicable to all trucks from April 1996.

PROTRUDING LOAD MARKERS

Where a projecting load is carried or a projecting special appliance is permanently fitted to a vehicle, red and white marker boards conforming to the requirements as prescribed in schedule 12, Part 11 of the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations must be fitted to the vehicle or load. Front and rear projection markers must: • Be as near as is practicable in a transverse plane • Not be more than 0.5m from the extreme end of the projecting load • Not be more than 2.5m from the road surface • Be clearly visible, within a reasonable distance, to a person using the road.

A load must be made clearly visible if the length of projection is between 1 and 2 metres. Marker boards are required if the load projects rearwards or forwards by more than 2 metres. Marker boards are required if there is over 305mm projection on either side of the vehicle.
