What it tests • Abrasion, low level cut (coup test), tear, puncture, high level cut (TDM test) and impact. Rating system • Each test is assigned a number: Abrasion (1-4), Coup Cut Test (1-5), Tear (1-4), Puncture (1-4), TDM Cut Test (A-F), Impact Test (Pass or Fail). How to interpret the rating • First number: Abrasion resistance • Second number: Coup cut test for lower performing cut resistance products • Third number: Tear resistance • Fourth number: Puncture resistance • Fifth Letter - TDM cut test for higher performing cut resistant products • Sixth Letter: Impact test Important considerations • “X” marking: If a glove is not tested for a specific category, it will be marked with an “X”. • Cut resistance levels: Recent updates to the standard include additional cut resistance levels denoted by letters (A-F) with “F” being the highest level.
