KeepSAFE Glove Collection - 2025
Colour Coding
Colours help us recognise difference... Safety gloves come in all different colours, mainly due to the different yarns used in the knitting process and also the addition of the coating. The colour of the glove is usually the thing that makes it most instantly recognisable and therefore making it very easy to distinguish the difference between one glove and another. The main part of the glove covering the fingers and palm is knitted using coloured yarn then coated to add a layer of protection. Moving down into the cuff, you will sometimes see a slight or total change of colour and this is where elastication is intensified to ensure the glove fits well around the heel of the hand where it starts to narrow into the wrist.
Know your glove size at a glance... Moving down from the three to four inch band of elastication, you will see a narrow yet strong band of over-stitching which serves two different purposes. Firstly it acts as a neat and secure hem to the glove which prevents the yarn from fraying and finishes off the cuff in a tidy fashion so it sits comfortably against the wrist. Secondly it provides a quick and easy way of identifying the size of the glove at a glance. Each different size of glove will be hemmed in a different colour yarn, the colour of the yarn denotes the size.
